What is Celebrex?
Celebrex is a no steroidal anti-inflammatory drug; it is indicated for the relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and for the management of acute pain in adults. Celebrex is also known as Celecoxib, which is the generic name of this drug.
Celebrex treats rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile arthritis, menstrual pain, or pain.
Dosage and form:
Celebrex 200 mg is available. You should remember to follow the advice of your doctor in regarding the dose. The lowest does that is effective is recommended for each patient. Take Celebrex 200 mg per day. When you have rheumatoid arthritis, the recommended dose is either 100 mg or Celebrex 200 mg twice per day; it depends on the severity of the condition.
If you want to treat menstrual cramps and other acute pain, the initial recommended dose is Celebrex 400 mg on the first day, taken as a single dose, with an extra 200 mg taken on the same day if the pain does not abate. If the patient is still suffering the following day, then a dose of 200 mg twice per day is recommended.
There are possible side effects with every drug you are taking .Celebrex can increase the risk of a fatal heart attack or stroke, which can be augmented by a pre-existing condition including cardiovascular disease or high blood pressure. Shortness of breath, diarrhea, dizziness, gas, headache, heartburn are possible side effects. The list may be continued.
Celebrex is to be used only by the patient for whom it is prescribed. Do not give other people.
